NPDC SKILL ACQUISITION PROGRAM (HEALTH SEMINAR FOR TRAINEES)
Available data show that sexually transmitted diseases constitute great medical, social and economic problems in Nigeria. Apart from the heavy affliction of urban dwellers, there is rapid excursion of these diseases to the rural areas as well, hence we took advantage of the two days holiday earlier on this week to organize a health seminar for trainees at the Citizenship and leadership training centre Out-jeremi where we brought in Dr Mrs Weyimi Orighoye to educate trainees on the need for them to be health-conscious and to be aware of preventive measure against certain prevalent diseases such as STI, STD, CANCER, and obesity.
Also, during the seminar Dr Mrs Orighoye explained to trainees the harmful effect of alcoholism and drug abuse, while stressing the need for trainees to be very mindful of the side effect of certain substance such as marijuana, cigarettes, shisha and others.
At the end trainees were given the opportunity to ask question bordering on health issues and very precise and insightful answers were provided by the expert Dr. Mrs Orighoye. It was such an impactful and knowledge-filled seminar… Holiday well spent.!!!
